Celebs Go Dating: The Mansion's Sophie Hermann left viewers scratching their heads after revealing why she never uses public hot tubs.

In tonight's premiere (January 25), which saw the famous participants and a handful of hopeful singletons move into a mansion together to ensure their safety during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Made in Chelsea star was seen exploring her new surroundings with Geordie Shore's Chloe Ferry.

As the twosome looked around the garden, Sophie, who said she's been single for two years because she's "picky" when it comes to romantic partners, spotted the jacuzzi and told her new pal that she won't be going in it through their stay.

"Things like that always remind me of like, a sperm pool. Eurgh, people have sex outside and then sperm lasts a week in warm water," she said, to which Chloe exclaimed: "So you can get pregnant?!"

"Yes, you can," Sophie replied.

"F**k sake. Well I won't be in there then," Chloe laughed.

While Sophie declared the facts quite confidently, it didn't take long for those sitting at home to call her scientific knowledge into question. And after some frantic Google searching, a handful couldn't help but share their findings on social media.

"It's OK. Read that the water is too hot for it to survive," one person confirmed.

"Fun Fact: Sperm can live outside the body for a short time under the right conditions," another chimed in. "However, the temperature in a hot tub is too high for sperm to survive. Even in a bath tub at body temperature, water is not a good element for sperm to survive in."

Well, there you have it. Turns out Sophie's missing out on the bubbles for nothing.

Other celebs taking part this year include DJ Tom Zanetti, presenter and ex-Strictly Come Dancing contestant Karim Zeroual, Coronation Street's Kimberly Hart-Simpson, Love Island's Curtis Pritchard and entrepreneur Wayne Lineker.

Celebs Go Dating continues tomorrow night (January 26) at 9pm on E4.
